All students who wish to sell their services on Yumani undergo an extensive screening process before they are allowed to join the Yumani community. This process includes an initial profile review to check the details and content they have provided and so we can judge their eligibility to work on Yumani.

Is a profile review the only check you do?
Of course not, the screening process doesn’t stop there. The student will be asked for a verified form of identification that we will check thoroughly for authenticity and accuracy.
A copy of this will be stored on our file until they cancel their Yumani profile. Any attempt to pass off a fake or edited document will result in a ban in line with our terms and conditions.

What about criminal records checks?
The identification and details provided will be used to perform a basic criminal record check with the relevant local authorities for that region. Only once this is returned and the details checked will the student be allowed to offer services on Yumani.
If the criminal records check details activities that are not inline with our terms and conditions of usage, the student’s account will be disabled.
If you do experience issues with any part of our service, then the Yumani customer support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All our support staff are friendly, fully trained, and ready to answer any question you may have, any time of the day.

If you think you are in a situation that is putting you or someone else in immediate danger of damage to your person or property, please contact local authorities or emergency services immediately before ringing the Yumani team.

In the event of a security issue, they are a variety of different ways our team can help, whether this be giving advice, speaking to the other party to mediate a reasonable solution, or offering to contact authorities in incidents considered severe.

Do students see my phone number, email, or other personal details?
No, students are never given any of your personal contact details. One of the ways we ensure your data is safe is by insisting that chat between clients and students is done through the Yumani app. By doing so, personal information like phone numbers and emails are never disclosed by either party.
The Yumani team monitor all activity within the app to ensure that all activities and chat are undertaken in accordance with our terms and conditions.

What should I do if I think there has been a breach in respect of my personal data?
If you have experienced something that you think is a breach of the Yumani terms of service or some other guideline or law in terms of your personal details, then you should contact the Yumani customer services team as soon as possible so they can investigate the matter.

Why do Yumani need your bank details?
We collect bank details so that we can process payments from our clients to the students who work for them. Payments are held in our accounts until both the client and student mark the job as complete and it is only at this stage that we will transfer the money to the student.

Your banking details are safe with us.
Our customers personal data is 100% protected through high end data encryption. We never store bank details in their raw form and always endeavor to remove stored data as soon as possible after a student or client closes their account.
Where is my money stored?
As mentioned above, once a payment has been taken from a client it is stored in the Yumani accounts until both the client and the student mark the job as complete. This prevents the student from receiving payment prematurely before work is done to a satisfactory standard.
Is there anything I can do to help keep my bank details safe?
There are a few things you can do to prevent bank fraud.
1.
Don’t give a student your bank details to pay for work, even if they ask. Use the Yumani payment services to keep your details secure.
2.
Stick to the agreed payment and don’t feel the need to offer extra payment.
3.
Don’t block payment for work that has been completed or is in the process of being completed.
