Yumani is a new smartphone app by Yumani incorporated that has been designed to help students find work for simple tasks like dog walking, lawn mowing, window cleaning, handyman work, and assembling furniture.
Yumani was the brainchild of Nicholas Mounouchos, a student himself, and was borne out of the frustrations he endured when struggling to find funds to pay for tuition and bills while in education.
Yumani’s main role is to connect students and clients within a friendly peer to peer environment that allows them to work together to complete their own goals – a student to make some extra money, and a client to get a task done.Whether you need a simple task completing like grocery shopping, or a more complicated one like carpentry, Yumani has a student ready and able to perform the task for you.

With Yumani, a student can offer services to clients while staying in complete control of the times they work, the areas they work in both geographically and skills wise, and the amount of money they charge.
But it’s not a one-way street and the services the students provide have immense value to the clients they work for. Yumani clients come in a variety of different shapes with many being elderly, infirm,or disabled in some way. Simple tasks can be difficult so the money they pay to a Yumani student is well worth it for the service they receive.
In this way Yumani offers a valuable benefit to society and allows students to earn money they otherwise wouldn’t earn while giving clients a chance to get valuable tasks completed that they may otherwise struggle to do for themselves.

Yumani was formed in 2018 by Nicholas Mounouchos. Nicholas was a student at the time and took a year out from his studies as he didn’t have the funds to pay for tuition fees.
It was during a rather enlightening phone call with his father that Nicholas realized that his money issues were something he could do something about. He had seen other gig economy apps like Uber explode on the scene, but without the means to gain a taxi licence, Uber wasn’t really an option for him. But why couldn’t the Uber template be applied to the student work eco-system? It was at this moment that Yumani was born and now, two years later the app is ready for the market where it will fit into a niche all of its own.

Yumani has two different types of users: students and clients.
Students sign up to the service and set up a profile stating what tasks they will do and how much they will charge to do them.Students are security vetted before they are allowed to complete any jobs and the work they undertake is monitored by our team.
Clients are the people who need tasks completing. A client will set up a profile on Yumani before posting a job that they need doing or requesting a service directly from a student. They will pay for the task at this stage, but the money will not be given to the student immediately and is held within Yumani accounts until both parties mark the job as complete. At this stage it will be transferred to the student.

Yumani makes money by taking a small percentage of each transaction between a student and client. This money is reinvested in the app to continue evolving the user experience and promoting a viable and healthy gig eco-system.

We strongly believe that the service our app provides is a benefit society. Being a student is financially draining and dropping out of university or college due to a lack of funds is more common than it should be.With Yumani we are providing an easy way for students to make money without impacting on their studies by giving them the flexibility to choose the times and places that they work. But the benefit to society doesn’t end there. Many of the clients who use the Yumani app really need help to complete simple tasks. They may be elderly and struggle to go to the shops. Or they may be disabled and can’t easily fit together the flat packed furniture they have just bought. Yumani allows them to connect with willing students and get tasks done that they would otherwise struggle to do.

The gig economy is still in its infancy despite its size and it is set to become even more popular in the coming years. Yumani is situated to fit into the heart of freelance work by offering a unique service that you cannot find anywhere else. And with hundreds of thousands of students worldwide and millions of potential clients, Yumani’s reach will only get bigger overtime.
